Day 4: New York City

Today we had an adventurous day. We left around ten for the Smithtown Train Station. We jumped off the train about a half an hour later, and then jumped onto another. An hour later we arrived in Penn Station. Just to add to our excitement, we traveled on two subways before arriving at our final destination: Central Park. Here, we ate lunch and explored at the Central Park Zoo.  We saw many interesting things including a giant sleepy polar.bear and adorable red pandas.  A few of  us bought little stuffed versions of our favorites!
Once we had our share of the zoo, we split up into two larger groups with smaller ones inside. The first group visited stores like Apple and FAO Schwarz. Some of us had a cross-cultural experience of a different kind exploring designer stores on Fifth Avenue.  The extremes of wealth and poverty in this city have made a huge impression on all of us.  The other group explored Central Park, visited a Hungarian Baptist Church, and tried to go to an art museum. Both groups ended the day at Rockefeller Center with more long train rides. We arrived home around 10:30.
Tomorrow we will be setting up more prayer stations if it isn't raining. We will, however, rain or shine, be visiting Time Square for dinner and a youth service at Times Square Gospel Church.  We are very excited! Again, please continue to pray for us, specifically for more growth in the body.
