Switzerland   Day-3    Window day

Today we both worked and sang for our supper. The morning started out cold and overcast as we started our task of refinishing windows on the east side of the guest house. Our job consisted of paint removal and repair of glazing on the outside of the windows in preparation of fresh paint. Yurt (George) was our leader, assisting in removing the windows from the building and providing guidance. After a hard days work we finished 20 windows, 40 more to go:). The job was a lot harder than one would have assumed. Prepare to see us with buff arms and popping biceps when we return...maybe...since there was five meals.

Those who partake in physical labor in Swiss, though, take frequent breaks. These breaks are called Snooni. These breaks are important to them, and they allow them to share in fellowship with one another.

Before lunch we shared in the noon time prayer service.  Although in another language many of us were able to understand what was going on - a very special time.

Heiner taught us a French song at lunch that we all had to sing before we could eat dinner, but it was well worth it because we now have all experienced Swiss pizza, topped with rare Swiss deli meat, pineapple, olives, and the famous Swiss cheese. YUM!

It has been another grand day of community building and fun!
