Saturday: Thun - Excursion

The Swiss team headed out early this morning for a day long adventure to and in the city of Thun (pronounced toon).  After a brisk walk(jog) to the train station we arrived just in time to jump on the train.  Upon arriving in Thun, we meandered our way through the old town and hiked up many, many, many stairs to the Castle of Thun dating back to the 1100's.

Here are some reflections on the day from our travelers:

I had a good time exploring the city's old streets, it was great fun. My highlight of the day was strolling around with Mr. Kelley talking with phony British accents, trying to make ourselves sound more intelligent (but it probably backfired miserably). On Wednesday, I was very surprised and dismayed to find out that lederhosen are not worn by the Swiss; it is only a German thing, so I could not find them here; this is likely because of the vast variety of cultures that have come to Switzerland

. I have decided from now on to collect Bibles in foreign languages.
(P.S. Luke, bring me back a [small] Hungarian Bible)

WAZ-UP Y'ALL - this is Ethan and Will. today we walked around in Thun (we decided it IS pronounced fun).  The Switzerland team started the day by touring a castle overlooking Thun.  It was interesting to see the medieval armor and the jail rooms that were use just 800 years ago.  After the educational trip to the castle, Ethan and I explored the city's shops.  At the end of the day, we ended up with a monster bag of  chips, and a knife.  The experience as a whole was amazing and it as always exciting to witness anther culture in full swing as an outsider.  Praise the Lord!  Concluding thoughts:
-Will- Highlight of day; finding golf ball in alley!
- Ethan-  highlight- seeing probably something near 98% of the city while on a glorious and majestic quest for  a free bathroom

Tomorrow we will join the Don Camillo Community for Church.  Good-night!
